Alphonse Michael Tetta

Alphonse Michael Tetta, age 82 passed away at home surrounded by his family on Saturday October 7, 2017.
Alphonse was born in New York, New York. He was the youngest to his three sisters, and held an especially close bond with his sister Rosemarie Liotta. Mr. Tetta worked for Grumman and participated in iconic projects such as the Apollo missions. He also contributed to the innovative aerospace development of that time. He retired and from then on devoted his life to helping the impoverished. Mr. Tetta was a devout catholic, and lovingly shared his time to their charities. He was the executive director of St Francis house for many years, feeding hundreds of people a day, and delivering food to local migrant farms. He then became the executive director of St. Vincent DePaul clothing and housing those in need. Mr. Tetta also served as a Eucharistic minister for the youth and the sick. He visited local hospitals and nursing homes in his community. For his devotion, he was personally recognized by Saint John Paul II, and received many community awards. During the past few years he volunteered at molly mutt (Humane Society). He upheld the importance of hard work, faith, and family.
As the center and soul of his family he will be sorely missed. Al is survived by his beloved daughters Karen Tetta and Lauren (Layton) Parham, his grandchildren Dana(Shawn) DeLena, Brian Boley and Chris and Danielle Malico, his great grandchildren Ethan, Anna, Angelina, and Hendrixs and his many nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.
His motto was “ Do as much as you can for as long as you can”. For this reason the family is asking for donations to the local humane society or catholic charities.
